Wedding
A day wedding in the foothills
a wedding story
An afternoon wedding under hanging white flowers, with green hills behind the mandap and a bride who could not stop smiling.

The story
Some weddings ask you to chase the light. This one handed it to us. The ceremony was held outdoors in the afternoon, under a mandap hung with white flowers, with green hills behind it. Every frame came out warm and open.
The bride walked in under a sheer red veil embroidered with Hindi words, smiling the whole way. The groom wore ivory with a soft pink stole, and the two of them laughed through most of the rituals. We stayed close and let it happen.
Between the varmala and the pheras we took them aside for a few minutes of portraits: a forehead kiss in front of the floral arch, an embrace with the hills behind them, and a slow walk down an aisle of rose petals.

A sangeet night in the hills
The event the groom had been waiting for: a red-on-red sangeet in the hills, with solo performances, a couple dance and a neon sign that said it all.
